... looks pretty awesome and will be delivered by Steam. As I've had no problems with Steam I like that idea. It's in the latest PC Gamer if you're interested, I can post the screenshots from the DVD if requested.
Anyone play the original?

I'd like to see the screenshots, I was looking for some when it was first in the steam update news but couldnt find any. I never played the original but I'm interested to find out more about this new one.
Edit: Are these them? http://www.gamecloud.com/article.php?article_id=668 Looks pretty cool.

I like the idea a lot, and rather enjoyed most(1) of the original game - but six episodes at 12 notes each means at 72 quid it rivals my most expensive game(2) ever!
I depends how long each episode is, of course:
- I'd be disappointed if it was about the same as the bits in-between the white text in HL2, while some were longer than others (and some just seemed longer) there were about 14 of those and each on it's own weren't that long, especially on re-play. Six of those is only half a normal game.
- If it was like Quake1, which had four(3) episodes of about six levels each that woiuld be good, as six episodes would make the whole almost twice as large as a regular game, and worth the extra cash.
What I find exciting is that they promise to listen to feedback before releasing extra episodes, so each episode should theoretically increase in value. The downside of that is that it may take a long time to get the completed game, although tweaks through Steam would probably ensure the Source engine's longevity, and protracted releases would lessen the perceived cost.
(1) "That sign's not getting up" and other dialogue was great, the "stealth" and underwater missions took me much longer than they had a right to.
(2) £90 for Genesis Super Streetfighter II, not counting games I bought the system or upgrades in order to play.
(3) I only remember three, but the FAQ says four.

Original Sin might be when Adam eat the apple or something, maybe he also ate an iPod to go with it.Dog Pants wrote:Original Sin? Isn't that murder or something?
I did have Sin and it was okay. It was a bit rough around the edges, but it introduced some nice touches like locational damage modelling. I doubt I'd have played it through if I wasn't a bored student at the time though.
You get Sin 1 and Sin 1 multiplayer with the new Sin Episodes. I tried it and it's hard and I think I noticed the damage modelling thing as the baddies died quicker with headshots.
