Being a cheap sod I have just bought a 2-port passive hub so that I can fit my 360 and my computer's internets through one socket (Im in a uni-room) however whenever I plug both of the bad boys in and connect it to the socket it just dies on its arse and says it isnt connected.
Do I need to fork out for a router or can any of you techno-wizards suggest a solution?
Love and kisses xxx

Windoze internet connection sharing. just run the xbox through your pc by sending that pos back and getting a network splitter instead*, I did the very same in my halls. Plus is, zonealarm (when its not shitting about) tells you when people are trying to override your xbox connection to lag you out the game like the cheating cunts they are, so you can screen shot it and send it to the live team, then they drop the ban hammer.
*hmm, I could make that clearer, the rj45 port on the back of the pc, with a convertor for in and out (pffft)
edit 2, I seem to have written a lot of unclear shite without looking. That thing you have can go in the back of your pc, then you enable ics and plug in the internet to one side, and a crossover cat5 cable (1 of which should be supplied in the 360 box) from the other side to the xbox, it'll work it all out by itself if everything is set to automatic. This may be bollocks, but I did this with a very similar piece of kit in my halls. It costs no more than jiggery pokery of stuff you already have.
The end.

Hhm. I've tried doing that but the trouble is Windolls won't give me the option to enable ICS, since when the Xbox is on it kills all connection. I'll keep fiddling with it and see what comes of itHereComesPete wrote:Windoze internet connection sharing. just run the xbox through your pc by sending that pos back and getting a network splitter instead*, I did the very same in my halls. Balls to it, I'll just have to get a cheap router from town. The combined evils of Fista and a shite piece of equipment are too much for me. The fact the thing is brown should have sent alarm bells ringing.

Oh, you have fista? You should have said, they don't want to talk to each other, the new shiny shite fista hates everything else. I've had enough trouble getting a fista laptop talk to an xp desktop.
Solution is bin fista, get xp, they will then talk to each other properly and you'll be ok. As for fista ics and gettting it to talk to a 360, I have no knowledge, sorry.
