Nationstates Roleplay
Hello one and all.
I used to play <a href="http://www.nationstates.net">Nationstates</a>, a political web game, pretty heavily some time ago.
The game play consists of answering a multiple-choice question once a day, which will shape the description of your Nation, which you can name and customise lightly. The main game play however, consists of role-playing on the forums, which I've only lightly dipped my toe in.
The main story I tried my luck in, was acting as a peace-negotiator between two countries I was neutral with - taking modern technology leaders up for a small peace conference in my big ol' spaceship, the Peacekeeper. Things went wrong, shots were fired, my ship sabotaged, and the whole thing turned into a nuclear war, causing much lols on my behalf. I sat in space fucking up satellites and blindly shooting projectiles from rail guns, which went horribly off course as they entered the atmosphere.
But, there's a lot of potential for role play; scientific discoveries, propaganda broadcasts, invasions, negotiations, psychotic dictators and the like. There's a fair amount of lurking on the forums, reading what other people write, and checking up on the IC and OOC policies in the 'Nationstates' and 'International Incidents' forums, but there are people less literate than us being taken seriously, so there shouldn't be much problem.
I've decided to get a little RP group set up on a fictional planet, called 'Mongo'.
The maps are drawn, and a few 5punkers have already shown interest.
Nickface - 'The Dictatorship of Chyronastein'.
Roman - 'The Dominion of RO-BO'.
Anham - 'The Dictatorship of Anhamgrimmar'.
Grimmie - 'The Armed Plutocracy of Braxis VI'.
<a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... png">World map is here</a>.
<a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... >Political map is here</a>.
If you're interested, have a look around and start up a nation, lurk the forums for a day and tell me which country you'd like ownership of.
(Edit: Should this be in browser games? Whoops.)

Nick, Roman, Anham.
I've quickly drawn you up some maps of your chosen countries.
Here's mine, <a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... ng">Braxis VI</a>.
Post up here, or in a Private Message what you'd like on your map. Draw some dots on MS Paint where you'd like cities to be, what sort of labels you want on there. I've left 'Major Trade Routes' on each, because that's what I've used on mine. I can do whatever you want though; doomsday device locations, horse migration paths/areas, dimpled mug shops, leper colonies - whatever you want. Same goes with the written stats.
You can get stats about your nation (conversion rate, population, etc) at the <a href="http://nseconomy.thirdgeek.com/">NS Calculator</a> - You can use the information there, or make up your own numbers. Free choice.
Nick - <a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... .png">Bios Map</a>.
Roman - <a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... g">Antioch Map</a>.
Anham - <a href="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... png">South Burbo Map</a>.
Edit:
Also, Land mass - I've made your countries huge, because braxis has a population in the billions.
For size comparisons, Nick's tiny country of Bios has the same landmass as Italy.
Anham and Roman's countries are just under twice as big as Australia.
Braxis is just under twice as big as Russia.
Conclusion; The planet Mongo is Huge. We're living on a huge mong.

There's an un-deletion request form here; http://www.nationstates.net/page=helpMrGreen wrote:Ooh, I used to play this, had one of the strongest far-left Nations, then went on holiday and came back to find my nation had been baleeeted.
Braxis has been undeleted twice. Just mention your nation name, and it will be back within 24 hrs.
