Although I had to lie and say I had a 512 8800, because it doesn't seem to list the 768 one, and the last time I put nvidia (other) it said I failed the requirements, stupid thing.

It's beautiful, surprise surprise. Little things like frogs in the undergrowth, using the laser on the sniper rifle to pop heads up close, punching someone to death in maximum strength mode, the super weapons, it's great. Word of warning, this will fuck your system good unless it's a beast, I'm running no AA because if I do, it chugs away like a man on his vinegar strokes, everything set to high gives a bit of slowdown, but medium and low look shitter and the slowdown is really not much better that I found. The gauss rifle is fucking beautiful, costs a bit though, no point trying to silence it so they don't know where the shots came from, it sends out a fuck off purple contrail.

Installed it this morning, and thought I'd load it up to see how pretty it is before heading to work. When it loaded up, everything was bright red, with the odd texture trying to break through, and then it hung my PC when I tried to quit. Think I may need to turn down the settings a little, but so far it scores poorly!

With the textures, just stand still for a bit, and they all load themselves. If you read the writing in the red/yellow chunks, it says 'rendering shader', they all eventually pop up and it looks very pretty. Trying to leave without disconnecting from the server makes my pc fall over, but if I dc then quit the game, it's fine.

It does look very pretty, I was able to crank mine up to a mighty minimum settings but at 800x600 so it looked just fine, however everyone else was running about with dual pistols/shotguns/machine guns/rifles and I was stuck with a lone pistol and no fucking clue how to get more weapons... are they upgrades for killing peoples or doing stuff?

Reading some info on the game before you start it always helps.

In other news, p is the buy menu, v brings up suit and weapon altering, you get 100 somethings, dollars cookies, baby elephants, whatever, and with this you can buy dual pistols/smg/shotgun etc, and you can add stuff like lazorz, sights, nade launchers etc for more generic monies. you get more whatevers for killing, capturing/defending, and the other usual things. If you can, buy a gauss rifle, put a sniper scope on it, climb a hill, lie down, cap some asses, repeat.
