Kwari beta - buy your ammo, get money for kills

Every time you hit another player in Kwari you make money. Every time you are hit by another player it costs you. Every shot counts.
Sounds like an interesting concept. I've signed up for the beta, which hopefully will not involve actually money being transferred.

This was in the latest PC Gamer, didn't look smashing, but the concept is interesting.

Akin to online gambling. But with guns.

I'm not sure if it's an avenue which should be explored, given people's general rage when they lose online money (say, in MMORPGS, like EvE or WOW), with real money it's just asking for trouble.

I doubt it would be possible to play this game 'casually'. Clans full of farmers would roam the streets looking for innocent prey to shoot from atop of their tractor. Possibly.

Worst. Idea. Ever.

Making people scared of dying means they will play more cautiously, or some might say professionally. I say BORINGLY.

Hiding, camping, spawn raping and every exploit they can find will be utilised just because they can be in their moneygrubbing quest for cash.

I just had an idea to discourage camping in round-based games like CS:

What if dead people were let back into the round after a set time of no one on their team is killed (or maybe damaged) for a set amount of time? Or, maybe if a player is stationary for a set amount of time a timer starts to let an enemy back in. Like say if one side was all killed except one guy. If he can manage to keep moving and not get hit, he could get some reinforcements and at the same time if he could manage to get in some hits on people chasing him he could even out the numbers a lot easier.

Of course this kind of mechanism would need lots of balancing to work right, but it would definitely encourage people to finish off the other team a lot quicker.

Make a piano fall on their head, too.

:above: Fuckers that clog the start line of any game because they are truly afk deserve a comedy death, a falling vending machine would be good in CSS, but a piano or an acme anvil would be classic.

I agree it sounds like a bad idea but I'm interested to see it in action. You never now it might work. :faint:
