*casts Thread resurrect Lvl 4*

Wowser, this thread achieved some mighty special tangents!

Anyway, more information with a fancy new site too

http://www.spore.com/

Also, one for the beards and obsessives

http://www.sporewiki.com/Main_Page

Shitloads of informations there. Looks like there are a few tenuous release dates, earliest being March 30th. latest being "second half of 2007".

Either way I'm Well Fucking Excited™ and want it now. NOW.

Therefore, something will be wrong with it.

amblin wrote:Why do I look at this and see a different game than you all do? I see a fairly generic EA god sim, single player and the same every time you play it, which'll be 3 times and then you'll get bored. It looks very cartoony and not in any way gritty and difficult, rather the game is; who can make the gayest, most purple and pink alien so that other peoples games will be polluted with incredibly camp life-forms.

I will give it a go, but I'm not expecting to have my cock sucked by this game. I think it's a safer approach, 'cos if it does put out like cod4 did at first then I'll be happily surprised. :)

Sort of this.

I'm really not too excited, godsims or just about any top down 'YOU DO THIS NOW' games don't really appeal to me. I'll still buy it, and presumably I'll like it. But it just doesn't interest me enough to start swallowing the hype. I'll just get overly excited about MGS4 instead, thanks.

My interest is firmly held with partially on the god side, but more the RTS elements that should encompass about 2/3rds of the game.

Normally you get given races to wage war with, in Spore you get to build them, then wage war, it's a nice twist.
