Only two installations of Bioshock allowed

I have Counterstrike installed on my desktop & laptop (i obv only play one at once) and that works ok as far as i can tell. Would i be able to do this with bioshock or not?
Please can you clarify what the limits are?

I've been hearing that the limit is for numbers of copies you have installed <i>at once</i>. Uninstalling one "frees" up one of the two slots, so you could re-install indefinitely.

Whether this is just more speculation or not I have no idea

sounds pretty faaabulous, but all they really need to do to make it seem fair as far as i can see is make it so if you UNinstall it you Unregister it on the server.

wouldn't help in the case of a HDD failure or something like that though

I really hope this is the case, I want to be playing it on Friday not sending it back

Its a shame that they had to go and mess up the release of what could potentially be one of the best games of all time.

From what I have heard (from Elizabeth, who runs Cult of Rapture) is that if you uninstall it, then you're OK to reinstall. I think you're limited to 2 concurrent installs. Also, if you have to change your hardware or something similar, uninstalling it before you make changes (or after you make the changes, IIRC) and then reinstalling it will work fine. I'll look for the post.

If thats the case, then it's not soooo bad, even so, I've got three machines I could install it on ....I'd rather not have to sweep just so I can play it depending on where I am.

Looks like I'll be keeping my copy after all then. I'll just have to make sure I uninstall it once I'm done incase computer b0rkage stops me uninstalling it in the future.

ZOMG DRAMA!!!1!

I'll install it on my pc, and thats it, I don't have the luxury of multiple machines because I generally wait until something I really want to play won't work on my current rig, then buy a whole new setup and sell/cannibalise/blow up the old one.

How To Play:

#1 - Download PacSteam here: http://rapidshare.com/files/49737321/pacsteam-18-08-07.exe
#2 - Install PacSteam.
#3 - UnRAR the game files to your PacSteam SteamApps directory (e.g. C:\\\\Program Files\\\\PacSteam\\\\SteamApps).
#4 - Run PacSteam and login with a blank (no games) Steam account.
#5 - BioShock should be at 100% - Ready. Just load it up and play.
#6 - You can talk to friends on Steam etc. PacSteam will run like Steam

These such things* tend to have long and evil histories of being full of malware and other such goodies.

It might be clean, but it might not.

*Six-steam springs to mind, that was clean for a month or so, then they filled it with malware and keyloggers
