I must say i was skeptical about this film but overall i was quite pleased with it, maybe because i had low expectations
+ points for me
I dont know about anyone else but i think shia laboeuf is a great actor, i first saw him in a kids show called even stevens and as far as young actors go i htink he is very good, i'd like to see him in something opposite jsutin long (Ed, Dodgeball, Accepted) who i also think is a talented young actor
Giant shiny robots (nuff said really)
The girl IS hot
"one shall stand, one shall fall"
peter cullen
- points for me
the vehicle modes, although i have mainly gotten over the fact that bumblebee is a camaro (which is actualyl due to volkswagen not wanting to be associated with a war movie, apparently), but i don't like the sickly green colour of ratchet and i don't like the shape of starscream, he looks too squat and triangular, also megatron, i know he has been biuried in the ice for thousands of years and hasn't had time to find a disguised form, but i trhink he should have been the tank, with the big fuck off gun on his arm
hugo weaving. a lot of people say they don't notice it but i don't like his voice, it's too distinct and always makes me thing agent smith or elrond, definitely not megatron. i don't understand why they didn't use frank welker. the reason i heard is that his voice sounded too aged but i saw an interview of him and peter cullen and his megatron sounds much better than cullens prime does.
not enough well known decepticons, i especially noticed the absence of soundwave.
I didn't reall notice the product placement too much, i don't think they overdid it with using ebay, as it was an important plot device, i didn't notice the chevy logo in the transformation.
I thought the love story was a bit daft, but it didn't ruin the movie. the aussie girl seemed a bit tacked on and superfluous. some of the dialogue was a bit wrong though, like prime saying 'my bad' that seemed really out of character. also didn't like how he didn't have the recognisable faceplate through most of the film
finally i agree with what was said about the transformations and not being able to see them all that well, especially as they have apparently gone to great care to actually account for all of the mass and dimensions of the parts, and the 3d models apparently actually transform witjout any parts disapearing
as i say though, overall i thought it was most enjoyable and look forward to sequels with more transformers such as the previousl mentioned soundwave, and perhaps hot rod and wheeljack

I've never been a transformers follower, but I had a couple of mates who really wanted to see this whilst we were on holiday (Azores was closer to USA, so actually had the film out since begining of July).
I didn't have high hopes at all, I was only going cos the cinema was cheap; and was very pleasantly surprised.
3 words: BIG STOMPY ROBOTS.
Love story was a bit naff, but wasn't a huge factor. BIG STOMPY ROBOTS.

One of the best films I have ever seen.
Exactly the right balance of fun and action. They didn't make it about special effects, which is a nice change for Hollywood.
Really recommend you watch this. It is out in America on DVD so very -able.
For me, 9/10. I can't think of a good reason not to give it 10/10, but I resist giving anything that score.
Edit:
I haven't really watched or followed Transformers before this film, so any missing/flawed characters, or other anomalies would have skipped past me. I can't get excited about all that anyway. Its just a great movie.
