yes they are, and yes turn off HDR. HDR does absolutely nothing to help you, and you shouldn't use it unless you fucking rule, or Valve makes it mandatory.

In other words, HDR is complete and utter shite. It looks crap, is completely unrealistic and is probably the biggest waste of time in game development history.

Probably.

basically, yes.

it'd be better if it was about 1/4 the effect it currently is.

problem is it mimics what eyes would do in that situation, which they don't actually do during computer games

Right then, here are our 16 players:

Lateralus
Mr Bobbins
Berk
JockGit
Spoodie
Ty
Prof
Deject
Hehulk
Roman
Pixie
Gunslinger
Bob47
FatherJack
Soloman
Tezz or Cashy

If Tezz and Cashy can sort out which one of them is playing then we can pick the teams and get started on the matches.

After this evening I'm away till next weekend so can't do anything further on this till then, so if anyone is inclined to get the teams sorted then feel free, but if not I'll do it next sat or sun.

I suppose we could get this started with people nominating any preferred pairs, if that's fair. I'm not bothered who I play with so long as they don't take this too seriously. 8)

Alternatively Lateralus could just pick them at random next weekend.

i think properly random would be best.

give each player a number (1-16 or whatever), then run a random number generator for 1-16 and make pairs that way.

(first 2 numbers = team 1) and so on.

that'll avoid anything unfair (given humans are terrible at pretending to be randon)

This sounds good to me, providing someone has a random number generator. I have a feeling Berk will oblige.

Cheers Grimmie. This could be quite useful, especially since unlike the C&C tournament theres teams involved so someone may need the teammate.

Ok Cashy, Tezz said he'll play, so in alphabetical order, here are the players:

1 Berk
2 Bob47
3 Deject
4 FatherJack
5 Gunslinger
6 Hehulk
7 JockGit
8 Lateralus
9 Mr Bobbins
10 Pixie
11 Prof
12 Roman
13 Soloman
14 Spoodie
15 Tezz
16 Ty

Using Berk's random number generator, this gave me the following list:

3 Deject
14 Spoodie
12 Roman
9 Mr Bobbins
10 Pixie
2 Bob47
8 Lateralus
6 Hehulk
7 JockGit
13 Soloman
15 Tezz
11 Prof
16 Ty
1 Berk
5 Gunslinger
4 FatherJack

meaning teams currently stand as follows:

Anyone got any major issues with this?*

Ty Smells funny!

otherwise, that seems like a pretty good matchup, looks like no sets of people outclass any of the others too hard. :)

I have every confidence myself and Bobbins will defeat and teabag the combined horses of deject and spoodie.

Yay - scheduling problems already! Seems I imagined Hehulk saying he wanted to play, and turns out he doesn't actually have CS:S, so I'm now with Grimmie and Cashy is our spare man.

What do people think to a two-week per round time-limit to stop it dragging on forever?
