Re: 5punk attempts to complete a 4X game

Start with the Broken Lords too - you can completely disregard production of an entire resource.
Happy to nip in to a game with you some time to answer any questions you might have, too.

Brum Bash X - The one not at Grimmie's parents' house

Instead it will be at my house! * Whoop whoop! We're looking at first two weekends in August. Place your votes, 5punkers. * Still in Birmingham, and still within a short drive of major transport links. Friday 12th - Monday 15th August, 2016 Come one, come all - there will be alcohol, there will be ...

Re: 5punk attempts to complete a 4X game

Seems like the game's drawing to an end after last night's 30~ turns.

Nobody's declared war on anybody yet, save for an erroneous declaration of war followed by immediate peace by Dogpants against myself.

We're going for, as far as I can see, non-military victories. It's almost too quiet.

Re: 5punk attempts to complete a 4X game

This Thursday, aye. I was going to do a diary entry for what happened in the game, but uh.. I didn't see anyone else other than Dogpants' dragon avatar, and one cell of Joose's border on an adjoining continent. I also built a fancy library with a floaty gem above it, and everyone got scared when my ...

5punk attempts to complete a 4X game

eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate Following the success of Mondiablos, where Pnut, Bits, Joose and I got together once a week for a couple of hours to beat demons up, I figured we could probably replicate the success elsewhere. Does anybody fancy actually finishing a game of: Civilisation V...

Re: Diablo seasonal malarchy

I might be Diabloed out, not sure. You only get the full set if you do that crazy Seasonal Level 4 journey, right? I never had the time or concentration to play it often enough to get to that kinda level.

Re: Decent chairs

It's not particularly configurable, or a gaming chair, but my Markus has lasted me years, and is super comfortable. I never bothered fitting the arms.

Star Wars: The Spoilers Awaken

Star Wars: The horse Awakens Fantastic return to form, a few mis-delivered lines between Ford and Fisher, but otherwise everything I could've expected and more. (It may have helped that I've avoided all trailers and teasers other than the initial release teaser and the Comicon behind-the-scenes sho...

Re: Movie Trailers

Zzzz. The appeal of the first movie was that it was puny humans vs technological monsters. Now it's future-tech vs future-tech, and all the tension's gone.

Re: Doctor Who

Last episode was great actually, we only twigged what was going on just before the big explanation kicked off. Moffat wrote it, naturally. I'm finding I much prefer episodes without companions in, or even temporary companions for that matter. It allows The Doctor character to be much darker and intr...

Re: PC Gamer's Budget PC - Can we get any more budget than t

We're thinking about using the old machine for Steam Home Streaming and media serving when we move out, so probably won't be able to cannibalise the hard drive. Will definitely look at the other stuff though Berk, cheers.

PC Gamer's Budget PC - Can we get any more budget than this?

Hello you technically minded people. We're looking to replace em's ancient rig (my old, old one that got built and frankensteined from 2005 onwards) with a new machine. Budget's pretty tight as we're moving house soon and have all those lovely legal fees to pay. I've been looking at PC Gamer's sugge...

That sounds like a challenge, Anery. Are we enough space-badass to navigate through a few billion star systems?

Re: Elite Dangerous

I was hovering over the buy button yesterday, but couldn't make my mind up.

The negative reviews looked really damning - high learning curve, very little interaction with the "multiplayer" community, long travel times, next to no tutorial.

Sell me this game, Jock! Is it that good?

Re: So what's going on here then???

Omgadz! A scotsman appears! Hello old friend. We're still playing video games every weekend and having bashes - Mr J's just held a lovely one in Ghent. Proffles just posted that he's having twins (!) on facebook, to add to his already singular bab. Fallout 4 and Starcraft 2 are consuming a lot of my...
