Re: Lagging ta feck
So a little update of sorts I tried yanking three sticks of RAM out, leaving just 1x2GB in. Tried booting up EQ2. The only way I can get up to 6fps is by having everything on lowest settings possible and even then it still lags like a bitch. However, I don't think it's my graphics card because, like...

Re: Anno 2070
I grabbed it through suspicious methods as I'd never played an Anno game before and I have to admit it's quite enjoyable. I mean, I don't know what the hell I'm doing half the time, and can't decide whether to build eco-friendly or industrial, but overall it's an interesting concept to me and I've b...

Re: Lagging ta feck
Another thought: go to the system info page (right click my computer > properties) Under the ram does it say... Installed memory (RAM): x.xGB or Installed memory (RAM): x.xGB (y.y available) ? It says "Installed memory (RAM): 8.00GB" :3 I shall go re-install my drivers now. Wish me luck!

Re: Lagging ta feck
you have reinstalled windows and updated drivers, haven't you? Updated drivers from Gigabyte website, latest AMD drivers, yep. Have I overlooked something? I recall once forgetting to get network drivers and wondering why my ethernet port didnt work, so it wouldnt surprise me if I've made a whoopsy...

Hoping CPU/GPU are fine as I want to wait for Sandy Bridge and the 7XXX series so I can upgrade then. B-)Grimmie wrote:I can see you replacing every bloody component in that case at this rate.

Yeah I'm thinking it might be a RAM issue.Grimmie wrote:One suspects that if your PSU went, it might have done damage to other bits and bobs in your case.
Berk will be along shortly asking you to run Memcheck.

no, the problems turned up when i switched from one case to another the other day. identical set up, just a bigger case. You sound like you more than know what you're doing, so apologies if this is a lesson in egg-sucking, but have you checked to make sure there are no rogue mounting studs causing ...

Re: Computer won't turn on
I'm 99% convinced this is a motherboard issue for the following reasons: 4870 works but 6870 doesnt -- however, if I swap between the two, I have to flip the CMOS battery in/out No matter what drive I plug in (4 HDDs and 1 SSD), it will refuse to recognise any of them as being connected Switching ke...

Re: Computer won't turn on
Did so. Interesting turn of events -- after pulling out my CMOS chip and yanking everything out of my motherboard, bar memory and cpu, it turned on. So I started adding things one by one. Hard drives are all fine, but my GPU being in makes the computer unable to turn on (this is an issue owing to th...

Re: Computer won't turn on
Suppose I should have clarified there! Any other information I need to give, let me know With regards to it not turning on, I mean it literally won't turn on -- I hit the power button, and nothing happens. Powered at the wall, powered at the PSU, all connectors (for motherboard, cpu, gpu, hdd and po...
