Re: Movie Trailers
That looks good. I'm in a nice position where I've seen the Manga version and recognise some of the scenes and characters, but won't notice any differences that might spoil it for hardcore fans. Looking forward to this.

Re: Civilisation VI
Ooh! Interesting thing! If you get Boudica her one-time ability is to convert barbarians. This means that when she's selected she highlights hexes which are viable for its use. Which means you can sit her at home and use her as a radar to see where all the barbarians are on the known map. An exploit...

Re: Movie mini reviews
I wonder who has the job of uniformly scattering small pieces of debris on set. I bet it's the same bloke who has to sweep it up again. Trolls I took Sprog to see this today. You know how a lot of modern kids' films are quite clever and witty, and appeal to adults on a different level? This isn't on...

Re: Civilisation VI
Fourteen hours after I started, I've completed (and won) my first game. Not much of achievement - score victory on Settler (easy) difficulty with a small map. Still, a win is a win, and considering how different Civ VI is from Civ V I think it's an achievement. Six in fact, if you go off Steam. Here...

Re: Game Videos
I loved the original board game of Dark Future. The theme of it - especially the 80s corporate ad for the Interceptor - seems about right, but the visuals are pants and seeing civilian cars on the road worries me that they've either ditched the post apocalyptic setting or completely failed to unders...

Have we seen this yet?

Looks exactly as batshit as the animated series.

Last one. It strikes me that developing a planet-destroying superweapon to get rid of the Rebellion is like using a nuke to resolve a guerilla war. Not sure why they're as worried as they are. Still, I continue to love the look of this. ...
Re: Payday 2
I don't think John Cleese is particular about what he does, professionally. I heard that he does quite a lot of corporate instructional films.

3:46 and 0 mistakes. I reckon I could have gone faster too - I was off to a flying start then Mrs Pants served up dinner and threw me off.

Sell Your Favourite Game What Nobody Likes
I reckon we all have a game that we like, maybe even love, but that nobody else likes. Either everyone remains unconvinced of its merits, or maybe some people actively dislike it. Either way, you remain alone in your appreciation. Mine, I would say, is Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space. If foun...

Re: Blood Bowl - Return of the Keys Bowl
I like Chaos. Their lack of skills is their biggest disadvantage, but they have decent stats for their roles and the Beastmen are similar to Human linemen in utility. If you manage their XP you can produce some decent specialists. They'll never be more than a bash team though - a throwing game just ...

Re: Blood Bowl - Return of the Keys Bowl
Final game in the BB2 knockout has been played, ending 3-2 to Joose. It was a violent game which went to extra time, by which time there had been four deaths (one was apoc'd) and four injuries. I had four players on the pitch at the end of normal time. Very good game, I'm happy with my performance a...

Re: Movie mini reviews
Looper Not bad grimey sci-fi about hitmen and time travel. The former is fairly light apart from a couple of action sequences, the latter a bit tenuous. Perfectly watchable though. Joe Dirt Loser comedy about a redneck stereotype looking for his parents. I liked it, but I like Adam Sandler films, w...

Lucy
Scarlett Johansen accidentally takes drugs which let her use increasing amounts of her brain, giving her insight and sort of superpowers. Pretty good I thought, quite gritty and an interesting take on a sort of superhero origin story.

Re: BF4
Grab the BF4 DLC for free before the 19th of September and they're yours to keep. If you're still interested (it's not a bad game still).
