I too am banned from OTTD, So I've been playing Train Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator, Bus Simulator and a Bit of Flight sim.

Things you need to know:
1) Bruce Campbell stars.
2) Sam Raimi is involved.
3) It is (rightly) fucking ridiculous
4) It is utterly fucking brilliant

If it works, I wouldn't worry too much, the missing pins are just earths anyway.

You can get 6 to 8 pin adapters, but I'm not convinced they're a good idea, actually surprised there's not one in the box.

That sounds a lot like a fucked GPU to me, which is bad.

It could be a RAM issue, but unlikely. try the windows memtest thing (c:\Windows\system32\mdsched.exe) to check.

Do you get the squares during post and windows booting too?

I seem to remember that movie passing a couple of hours successfully, but not a lot more (I actually had to check IMDB to be reminded of the plot)
