It's worth mentioning that jessops will price match Internet prices. Yeah, but only on DSLRs. They won't match accessories, lenses etc unless you buy them with the camera body. The policy seems to mysteriously change between stores. I don't buy from them on principle anyway - they're still selling ...

Hmm, well on a Sky HD box the SD channels will probably look better via hdmi than via scart into your HDTV but whether it actually upscales it I'm not so sure. Oh, and also they're really good™ But then it's all relative, 20% of people in the US owning a HDTV, but not actually receiving HD content,...

And when watching SD telly it all looks shit so doesn't really matter what you get. I thought that was going to be the case before I got mine. Sure, the internal freeview is fairly bad as you might expect, and most of that is due to the extra compression for over-the-air digital, but both 480 and 1...

Awesome replies chaps, ta. edit: This one looks pretty shiny. But F3.5-5.6? You can get that with other kit lenses. Remember that Sony = Minolta. You can use ALL the old Minolta lenses. So you could save £££s if you can find some decent second hand lenses. I'm waiting for their next model. I'm hopi...

Re: 42" TV - LCD or Plasma
I'm Going to buy a new 42" 1080p TV today but can't decide on the flava. I've read in some places that once you get to 42" then Plasma should be considered over LCD. Any thoughts or recomendations. Max budget is £750 with delivery. Not sure if you can get it under £750 yet, but the Sony B...

Just out of interest Dave of the trousers. Where did you hear about us, just through b3ta or have you come across us (tee hee) anywhere else? Have you been lurking long or just stumbled across the site/a link and signed up? Oh I've known about 5punk for years, but I got reminded about it recently w...

Hah, that explains my 7200.11 drives dying. I spent ages trying to convince them it was dodgy firmware, but they denied it of course. Idiots.News Reader wrote:Seagate admits firmware foul-up

More info about how the site works can be found Here You'll have to try harder than that! Use imagination! Ultimate Defrag
I used DiscTrix Ultimate Defrag on my XP machines. It lets you shuffle files about based on recently accessed times, and also by priority from a custom list - ie, you can put all your game data like maps on the outer tracks of a disc for quicker load times etc. It's not so great for Fista system dri...

Re: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB Hard Disk [Hardware]
I have the 500GB version of that - it's lovely fast, but I use a 320GB 7200.10 for Windows atm, as I tried the 7200.11 320GB "single platter" drive 3 times. They died within hours of use each time. Shame, because the 320GB has a great access time, and a sustained data rate of up to 120MB/s...
