Re: The Miniatures Project Thread
I've put the base coats on but that's about it. Running with a red white and blue theme - one red, one white and one blue gobbo. I'll get picks and update at the weekend.

Re: The Miniatures Project Thread
Phone mast at work has been down for a few weeks so no uncensored intercocks at work :( otherwise would have replied somewhat earlier. Anyhoo, sorry if they arrived beat up. Given that two of them had to go as small parcels rather than letters due to the way the gretchin had arranged themselves in t...

I don't have Alien Isolation, but I do have a code for the Corporate Lockdown expansion - who wants it?

Re: The Miniatures Project Thread
3 minis - time limit of about 6 weeks - two weeks per mini - sound reasonable? Not talking full units, that would be far to expensive and time consumingDog Pants wrote:I'm conscious of my time limitations.

Re: The Miniatures Project Thread
Would anybody be up for a bit of painting challenge? There are at least three active painters amongst us and some that can talk a good game *cough* Buzz *cough* and I would welcome the opportunity to paint 2 or 3 models every now and then that were different from what I normally paint -red power arm...

Re: Recommended Comic Reads (non-spandex stuff)
believe Kurt Vonnegut once said something like (and I'm probably mangling the quote) "a good writer must be a sadist, do unpleasant things to his characters." Robert Kirkman must be bloody good by that reckoning. Vonnegut's quote was about making really bad things happen to characters so ...

Re: Recommended Comic Reads (non-spandex stuff)
Issue 1 of the walking dead - first print - is now worth a few bob. Anyone ever watch Comic Book Men? It's about Kevin Smith's comic shop in New Jersey, really good even if you have no interest in the medium. They had an issue 1 brought in but it was from Canada and not from the original printing wh...

Re: Games of 2015
Yeah, I started making a list of "want that, interested in that" but it got too long.
Looks like a good year, though I doubt some of their optimistic release dates.

Re: The Miniatures Project Thread
I spotted that on BoLS, I do like the idea of a rolling desk cover to keep all my stuff away from the cat...then again, any area where I can leave my stuff in a "working" state without having to pack it up would be nice. Maybe when I win the lottery I can buy myself an antique writing desk...

Re: Gaems Wurkshup!
Aside from the cobbled together system for Necromunda we had a few years back I don't think I've touched anything approaching the 40k ruleset.
I still have my "Goonies on a Hive World" take on a Necromunda campaign around here somewhere, maybe sometime post the fluff I wrote up for it.

Re: Heroes of the Storm
I thought I would do a quick rundown on the different maps in game so far and how they affect the play on each one - bear in mind they are always side objectivs the main idea is to destroy the enemies core - the ancient for dota players. Maps are smaller and lead to face to face jousting with the op...

Re: Elite: Dangerous (aka Elite IV)
I only just got started, so can't afford expensive cargo, but made about 1k profit per trip hauling grain from one station to another in the same start system (LHS 3447) That's how I started out with my Eagle, then sold the extra one off to buy the Hauler. If you travel to Pera the Hayashi City to ...

Re: Elite: Dangerous (aka Elite IV)
Has anybody found any particularly lucrative trade runs yet? Currently I am hauling gold from Pera to Chenti and food back again for a little under 9k profit per return journey. This is at around the maximum range for a single jump with the stock Frame Shift Drive fitted to a Hauler with 8 full carg...

I had no notification from Blizzard, it just appeared on my launcher. If you don't play many Blizz games then it might be worth checking the launcher every now and then to see if anything appears.
