Re: lurker needs some upgradez
hi berkz! Short version> ok, SSd fitted. Long version> first time round I went the lazy way (at least I thought it'd be the lazy way) and cloned the drive. this worked after a fashion but on resetting the register and BIOS to accept AHCI it wouldn't boot. I suspected the drivers so tried to download...

Re: lurker needs some upgradez
so, SSD comes in tomorrow but I haven't ordered the GFX card yet... was looking at this ( OCUK link ) one for 240GBP (2gig mem version is 200) worth the extra 40 quid to get double the memory or should I just go with the 2 gig version? for the drive, I can't recall what I did when I upgraded the HDD...

Thanks guys, order placed. Btw dp, you said160 for a 256 gb... I found this one for130 something. It's the apparently slower Evo version but my mobo personally couldn't make use of the difference anyway. Still need to shop for the graphics card

well, it's been another year of lurking but I'm still justr about hanging on in there. mostly playing Indie Humble bundle games atm (Torchlight 2 is too addictive) so, I inherited a couple of 24" dell ultrasharp monitors and I have a Phillips something or other widescreen monitor already so I t...

Re: 5punky omgnoob's guide to Dota 2
I'm enjoying this game, thanks for the guide :likesitall: . slightly more commitment required than I'm used to putting in... nice touch that you can't pause even the tutorial games. Mrs Bomber doesn't really get the explanation, but then she's a puzzle hound who hasn't got over the idea that games a...

Skyfall
An expanded version of the small review I posted in mini-reviews. We've been away for a week for a massive family love-in in the saaaf of france, hence the gap. Mrs B and I were skiving off work celebrating the last day of her radiotherapy last week when we realised that Skyfall had opened but not y...

SKYFALL
saw skyfall in the "avant premiere" here in brussels whilst skiving off work certainly better than the last one and closed the circle that they had opened with the last two, implying a return to the "good old" bond movies. All in all pretty entertaining which is, frankly, what yo...

Brighton Rock, Hanna, 44 inch chest
Brighton Rock - based on a graham greene book about small time brighton crooks and a girl who falls for one. rather cerebral, intentionally dated and rather lovely. I would have liked to see more of the relationship between Helen Mirran and John Hurt (this movie hits heavily enough that these two a...

Re: TV Show Mini-Reviews
Been watching some new stuff this week. Well, new to me anyway; Alcatraz - about prisoners coming back from the past. not a terrible premise but ultimately a bit boring Touch - about a kid who seems quite damaged but writes numbers everywhere. then stuff happens around those numbers. his dad (Keifer...

fair point, she is hot, I was probably a bit harsh, it's just such a shallow plotdeject wrote:No points for Zoe Soldana being really hot? That's the only reason I finished it, though it's not as bad as people say it is.

Re: Movie Trailers
so long as the choreography is done right and it's not that wierd "clean" fantasy/SF McG style (which it looks like it might be), then the rest won't matter
looks both awful and awesome at the same time. Where do I sign up?

I'm not sure. everything in me says WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANT. but I know borderlands one didn't really, grab me, good for a laugh but not super compelling. ^ this. I played a good 30 hours of borderlands, but never really got into the plot, which seemed to ramble on. the visuals were great thou...

Benda Bilili
Bored of reading about movies I don't like? Here's one I do like; Benda Bilili. It's a doc about a band of street musicians (mostly crippled by Polio) discovered by some french dudes who back them to produce an album and to a short tour of europe. Like Buena Fista Social club only in Africa. Really ...
