We differentiate by tog. He's wearing a vest; golfers wear tank tops.

Ooh, I'm interested to see how they've done interface stuff. On a Minecraft note, the latest weekly snapshot has built-in LAN support.

Re: Brum Bash VII

If by TVfunbox you mean playstation controllers, I have two that I can bring. Any really. I have a bevy of Wiimotes, a PS3 controller and a wired 360/PC controller. What I bring depends on what I can fit in my bag, or what we're short on. I will try and make it over there on Saturday/Sunday for som...

Good lord. Those won't last long. You'll be doing well if they even make it to the bash.

Question: TVfunbox controllers! Do we have enough or shall I bring some?

Does anyone have space from one more from Brum station? I don't have a ticket yet, so I can get there for whenever's easiest. Bribery available upon request.

Re: Games on Bad Computers

The lovely PCGamingWiki is attempting to collect a bunch of stuff that works on low-end computers. There's not a lot in it, but it does link to a few previous lists.

Re: Game Videos

Looks like a similar setting to Crysis 3 and Last Of Us, which is fine by me. Seems like the wrong way round to make a game though:
This is however a big milestone for us, and we are going to be concentrating more on the gameplay side of things next

I think it's on Steam too, isn't it? Only the Deluxe Edition says Origin Exclusive.

Re: Sim City *Limited* Edition

I don't approve of what they're doing, but if there's a chance you can buy those extras later, individually, I'd be quite happy with a Standard edition. I've always seen SimCity as the perfect venue for DLC, given its themed-setting-expansion-pack past. Of course, it has to be a good game first and ...

Re: Windows 8

Is this on the Consumer Preview? I haven't installed anything yet but on the Dev Preview I downloaded many applications off the interwebs and installed them like any other Windows OS in the dekstop mode. Ah, sorry. Looks like I had that backwards- The Store is the only place you can get Metro apps....

Re: Windows 8

Just a note: you can connect a keyboard to an iPad, through the Camera Connector. Obviously. There's the official bluetooth keyboard option too. Office on ARM is confirmed, and bizarre . As far as I can work out, Office is the only thing allowed to use the Win7-era Aero UI. You can't side-load, so a...

Huzzah!

In other news, 1.2 should be out later today, if it isn't already, but Jeb's holding back on updating the framework library. The latest version might improve performance quite a bit, so it's worth trying to update it for yourself if you're comfortable doing so. http://lwjgl.org

Seconding Steins;Gate - it's gone some nifty ideas about time travel and incorporates real events well.
Also, it's worth noting that Durarara!! is set in the same universe as Baccano!, which may have been mentioned.

Re: Fund your own adventure game!

Quite possibly. A little like the Bundles, oversaturation likely will be an issue. I supported Double Fine's effort because its potential success could be a landmark. I want them to prove it can be done, so that the right projects know they can get funded if the demand is there. It's another avenue ...
