The ‘Ranger Pack’ DLC for Metro 2033 is now available to download. The Ranger Pack adds new weapons, nine new Steam Achievements and the deadly ‘Ranger Mode’ game rules.
In standard Ranger Mode, ammo is dramatically reduced and all weapons and attacks cause more damage. Your foes are deadlier than ever – but then, so are you...
‘Ranger Hardcore’ adds an additional challenge as the HUD is totally removed, creating the most immersive Metro 2033 experience yet.
Rise to the challenge with two new weapons – the Heavy Automatic Shotgun, and the Volt Driver, Miller’s signature gun.
The Ranger Pack is offered as a free download to all Steam users.

| Why hello there! |
After a prolonged absence, I'm going to to by best to get back into the 5punky swing of things!
I've been a bit busy over the last year or two with work, getting married, and getting a house. I can't believe I allowed myself to get so far out of the loop, but I'm working to change that!
How is everyone? |

Been along time coming .... it is now here.
JockGit and Winestorm cordially invite all 5punkers to the Cassa del Jock in Blackpool
This event will take place over the Halloween weekend, costume is compulsary for when we hit the pubs.
This year it has been suggested we do the waterpark instead of the Pleasure Beach but the majority will decide.
State whether your coming on the Scheduler as usual
Breakfast, as usual will be supplied... |
| Geekfood: The Site |
Well following on from a number of conversations over recent weeks, we* have done gone and made a Geekfood blog! It's a little light on content just now, but will hopefully continue to grow at a steady rate as and when we cook stuff and remember to take photos of it.
The aim isn't to detract from the 5punky Geekfood thread, but it's a bit unwieldy for searching or browsing, and a blog format is something I personally find easier to use for storing and referencing recipes.
Any suggestions for a logo/favicon? It's all a little bare just now.
*Mr Green and Berk really, I turned up late to the party. |
| Alternate histories |
Inspired by a thread on the World of Tanks forum into how variations would have affected WWII. Since that's inevitably full of people bleating about how their country would have won because they're the best, I'd rather read about 5punky opinions on it. Some food for thought then (note, my historical knowledge is only really detailed for the second world war) ;
If Rome didn't fall.
If William the Conquorer had stayed in France
If Napoleon had won at Waterloo
If Archduke Ferdinand hadn't been assassinated
If the US hadn't joined the First World War
If Russia hadn't had a revolution during the First World War
If Spain hadn't had a civil war, or if Franco had won before the outbreak of WWII
If Britain had allied with the Nazis (like Mosely wanted, and I believe the Germans wanted)
If we had lost the Battle of Britain
If the US hadn't supported Britain/Russia
If the Japanese hadn't bombed Pearl Harbour
If the invasion of Europe had been delayed
If Operation Market Garden had been a success
If the Americans had retreated to regroup in the Ardennes
If the Russians had carried on marching through Europe against the Allies
If the US never dropped atomic bombs
I think that's enough to go on. We could probably go into Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, the Falklands, Afghanistan and Iraq, but I'm fed up of thinking up scenarios now. |
