SLA Industries: Day of the Doobrie
No actual BPN for this one, it's more organic. The synopsis is that the squad have stumbled upon a spate of killings committed by Doobries (miniature biogenetic replicas of celebrities, kept as pets), and Karma's troubleshooter, Mr Daniels, has recruited the squad as his personal troubleshooters.

Fuck yeah! Grim takes a second to confirm with Dirk that there will be shooting involved in this next BPN, and then darts off to put face paints on.

Combat thinking cap initiated.
Okay, so most of the Doobries are sold in Uptown, and that's where the killings are taking place. I guess that makes is marginally easier than searching around Downtown for some sort of cause. Should we start by finding a list of suppliers?
Are Doobries built for combat, or would they have to be modified to follow this sort of order; If so, who would know best as to how they are re-programmed - Someone from Karma?
Lastly, if this is a Red, are we expected to do this sort of investigation? Think we could wrangle a bonus from Daniels if we find the cause and stop it dead?

As its a Red, I think we should start by hot footing it to wherever the hotspot is, and killing us some meat-puppets. We don't want some high powered exec getting stabbed by their Tiny Mr Slayer because we were chatting with some Karma techs. Besides, we might get some leads from them, if they spout off some more weird shit. It would probably be a good idea to interview survivors too (if we manage to get any), see if there is anything that links them.Grimmie wrote:Combat thinking cap initiated.

As for the Dooberies themselves: They are made out of spare stormer, but they are intended as toys/pets. I think some of them are made to kill each other though, like the Halloween Jack Dooberie, so killing is in there somewhere. My guess is either: Karma Tech gone bad and making killer Dooberies (Serial Killer by proxy), or a dodgy batch of stormer meat making them psycho.

The Shivers mentioned Reds being issued by Shiver Departmental Control.
Mr Daniels wrote:Right, first thing I need you to do is go check out that other case in the building and get the Doobrie if it's still there. Take both of them to the Karma lab in North East Gosforth sector for analysis, then get to the local Shiver stations and bag any more you can get. Pick up anything else you think might have had an affect here - we don't know what's causing this so we need eyes on the ground. Here's my number, call me if you need anything. Any questions?
