SLA Industries - Tower Offence

Post by Dog Pants »

A few days after the next BPN, those of you who are able to recieve a fax or email get the following:

Image

Dirk gets a phone call from Haynes as it arrives;
Haynes wrote:I'm sending a Red over now, you need to get your squad moving. It's in Uptown. I've only just read it myself, but I've had a request from Dour after the last BPN, that you take his Vassal candidate along. It's another Waster, but don't worry, Dour assures me he'll behave better than the last one or have him to answer to. Give me a call if you need anything, and move fast. This thing is kicking off now.

I sincerely hope Ms Kirk has the rank of Captain.

I'll call up the others and see what they know, and see where we'll be meeting up.
Hey gang, I assume you guys all got this BPN too? Where are we meeting up? Dirk, you want to contact Ms Kirk?

Hello, Ms. Kirk? It is Ms isn't it?

I am Dirk Gently from SLA squad Five Punk. I and my associates are on our way to assist in the removal of some hostile corporate types - can you give us some more information?

Once Dirk gets some answers, and the location of the Waster I'll meet up with the rest of the group.

OOC: Hi. I'm new. Don't be hard on me :P I don't know which colors are taken so for now I'm going to stick with Darkblue.

Brainrot lets off a quiet growl while heading to a Suburban station.

Following instructions he got from higher up, he rings Dirk.

Brainrot wrote:Right on it. My thing would be Kick Murder if that's what you mean.
A click is audible through the comms; Brainrot lit up a cigarette and heads to the nearest Gauss station.
Brainrot wrote:Ah of course, the Ebon, aren't you? Have to disappoint you there, I've specialized in Blast and Protect. Anyway, I'll be there in a couple.
Reaching the Gauss, Brainrot disposes of the quarter of cigarette left and boards a train to Central.

Kt'rr finishes his days meditation, ensures his weapons/armour are nice and clean, waves goodbye to his wives and children, and heads off to meet the others.

He's humming a Shaktarian tune as he goes.

Assuming I get the name of the place from Dirk...
Alright, I'll head straight for the Hijoule building and see what is going on.
deject dons his new shiny (or rather not shiny) armor, locks and loads his AR, and heads off on his bike (unless the trains and such are faster in this case?).

Trains are almost always faster, but since Central isn't that large or that far away, or that busy with traffic, it's not too much of a difference.

Bike it is then. I don't want to just speed right up to the building, but I'll just zoom up to about a couple blocks away from it.

The Hijoule building is a chisel-shaped, 250 storey tower block of shining steel and glass. The narrow edge is designed to face the usual direction of the howling winds that cut through the heights of Central and deflect the driving rain like a car’s windshield. Shivers are surrounding the building at ground level, and placing Enforcer Shiver snipers in adjacent buildings. APCs are blocking all road entry routes, SCAF bikes circle the building, and half a dozen squads of Operatives are taking position in nearby buildings. Among the apparent chaos is a tall, thin woman in a rather masculine business suit who is busy harrassing the Shivers and Ops.

Dirk walks over to the woman
Dirk wrote:May I take the liberty to guess that you are Ms. Kirk? Dirk here from Five Punk, we spoke earlier. Right, now that we're all here I need you to tell us exactly what we're facing. Blueprints of the building and any other intelligence would help too.
I've also taken the liberty of assuming we're all there now.

The woman talks quickly and loudly, and seems stressed out. Her SCL badge confirms that she's Ms Kirk.
Ms Kirk wrote:You our assault squad? We’ve got approximately half a dozen DarkNight infiltrators in the board room with the HJ execs, making some bullshit demands. Hold on…

Move that APC over! We need to leave room for medivacs! I don’t give a shit what I told you a minute ago!

Damn Shivers. There’s twenty people unaccounted for after a fire evac, not counting the board. They might be Dinos, they might just be out on an early lunch. Fucking cube dwellers never clock in and out. Hang on…

You there! The Frother! Get your goddamn squad into the sewers and don’t let anyone out. I know it’s a shitty job, you’re being paid aren’t you? Quit fucking complaining and get some SCL.

Where were we? Not expecting any heavy equipment from DN, but you never know. Don’t worry about termination warrants, we’ll sort that out afterwards if need be. Weapons free in there, the only people I want to see walking out are you and the execs. I might give you a bonus for any useful intel you can collect though. There’s plans and diagrams in my command APC, other than that you do whatever you think best. I’m here if you need me, I’ll be on your comms channel.

Who the fuck called in the fire Shivers? There was no fire you asshole, it was an attack! Now fuck off!
She storms off, barking orders at people. There's a plain APC with a small Dept of Industrial Espionage marking on it nearby. A few Shiver officers and an Op are crowded round the open rear doors.

Dirk wrote:Is there any possibility that the unaccounted 20 are working with DarkNight or possibly are some of the ones involved in the assault? Get all their details and send them over to us just in case. If you can, get one of the Shivers to do another name check of people who made it out then get them to check at the missing people's home addresses.

Do you mind showing us to you APC so we may review the building layout?
Can we also get a "Holler!" of everyone who is in on this one?

She takes a half second pause to glare at you, and jabs her finger towards the Dept of Industrial Espionage APC, then goes back to harrassing people.
