The First Forumised SLA Industries BPN
Here goes...
The date, for reference is Oct 3th 900SD. That means you've all paid up your month's outgoings, I think. It's 3 days since the end of the last BPN*.
Upon returning from The Pit**, or 'a friend's' house, or wherever it is he goes for entertainment, Dirk finds his apartment raided. The place is a mess (more than when he left it), his door has been picked, and most things of any value have gone.
Aside from a few personal nicities such as his TV (slightly better than the regular Dept of Housing issue), a few decorative bits and bobs, and any Uni*** that was there, his SLA surveillance equipment, lockpicks, and his Gash Fist.
Over to Roman.
For the lurkers:
*BPN - Blueprint News file, the standard format for issuing jobs to Operatives
** The Pit - The largest nightclub in the city, exclusive to SLA Operatives (player characters are Operatives)
*** Uni - Universal currency, paper money used by those who don't work within SLA Industries

Dirk lets out a long, low whistle.
I'll generally have a look around the apartment to see what I can see. I'm specifically going to look how the lock was picked, and see if I can tell whether they spent more time in my room than they did with the housemates.

Hmm, someone's really done a number on this place. Wonder if they've left any sort of calling card.

I'm going to give Grimmie and Deject a call (you know, I can't even remember if those are your SLA names) as well as Spindle. Gerald's number seems to be unavailable.Dirk to himself wrote: This could be a normal break in, but I've got a feeling in the pit of my stomach there's something more to this.
I've got two hunches on this, and one of them is much worse than the other...Dirk wrote: I need to speak to you guys ASAP. Need to talk face to face, preferably somewhere "quiet" (*i.e. where no one can snoop on us). You ok to meet up in about half an hour?

You stole my indigo color! I'll have to go with olive then. And yes my character is named deject because I was being massively unimaginative when I made him.
Where did you have in mind Dirk? Just tell me where to go, I'll meet you there. Somethings wrong with the A/C in my apartment anyways and it's rather warm. I'd like to get out of this place.
You never did, there was just the potential to rent a room out.
Looking around the flat you don't find anything you wouldn't expect to in a freshly burgled location. The front door was crudely picked (the lock is damaged beyond repair), and no particular area seems to have been concentrated on more than any other. Apart from the locked closet you kept your sidearm and GASH Fist* in, which has had a similar treatment to the front door. You do notice that nothing larger than the TV has gone.
*For those following who don't play, a DPB GASH Fist is a weapon that has protruding blades, like Wolverine's claws.

Can we assume our knowledge of Mort gives us an idea of where we can go where we won't be observed?
Given that I normally air my hunches over Skype, despite being paranoid that Dog Pants might decide to do something evil upon hearing it, I might as well tell you my theories now (despite the fact they are upon absolutely nothing, other than an inkling of how the mind of Doggers ticks).
Hunch 1: Internal Affairs of some sort investigating the details of a previous BPN
Hunch 2: Actually on second thoughts I'm not going to say what this is, just in case I'm wrong but Pants thinks "ooh, that's a good idea *manic laughter*"

To be honest that depends more on how paranoid you are rather than knowledge of the city. However, it's a safe bet that the lower you go the less likely to be 'observed' you'll be. Anywhere in Downtown should be fairly safe.Roman Totale wrote:Can we assume our knowledge of Mort gives us an idea of where we can go where we won't be observed?
I've already got the main events written out, and do every time, so you're unlikely to sway me on this BPN. I'm curious to know what you think is worse than a spot of light subversion though, unless you mean this.Roman Totale wrote:Hunch 2: Actually on second thoughts I'm not going to say what this is, just in case I'm wrong but Pants thinks "ooh, that's a good idea *manic laughter*"

Yeah sure Dirk, I'll be there in XX minutes.
Also, in the last 3 days, deject has purchased the following gear:
2x Third Eye Mini-cams
1x Third Eye Universal Receiver (plugged into Scout Helmet
1x Wraith Raider Coolant Suit
1x ECM Suit
1x Scout Helmet Cellphone
For a total of 220c, bringing me to 111c total.

Nah, nothing overtly dastardly, just something that might give you an idea to throw in a cruel and unusual swerve ball.Dog Pants wrote:

Grimmie's on the 5th floor of The Pit, having a little go on the Captain Cosmos arcade machine.
Having just been distracted and thrown off his high score, he answers the call, and heads down to the greasy spoon.

Must be pretty bad if you've called us out here, it's not women trouble is it?

I'm not one to panic, but I do believe in exercising caution. I got home tonight to find my apartment had been ransacked. Looks like a standard burglary, but something in my gut tells me otherwise and I think it would be wise to take precautions.
Firstly, have any of you noticed anything strange in the last couple of days? Strangers hanging round the neighbourhood, people asking around about you?
I hate to sound paranoid, but given the nature of our employer I don't want to rule out the possibility of someone checking up on us - we have had some fairly top secret results recently after all.
Other option is that we've royally pissed off someone on a previous BPN who's looking for a bit of payback.
Really I just want to pick your brains before doing anything else. Reckon we should contact Haynes?

I reckon a call to Haynes and the local Shivers might be a good idea, check to see if anyone else has had this happen to 'em?
I've not really seen or heard anything recently, but then I've not had my ear to the ground.

I wrote that as out of character, but I decided to make it in character since we were conversing and I forgot to edit that.

Dirk, let me go to your apartment and see if I can come up with anything. You should file a report with the Shivers, and we should call up Haynes as well. I think after I take a look at your place I'll see if I can do a computer search for any other break-ins in the area just to be certain you're the target.
